Matteo Darmian’s agent Fausto Pari has insisted his client will seek pastures new if Jose Mourinho doesn’t give him more first-team action.
The Italian had been linked with a move to Inter Milan; indeed, a deadline day move to the San Siro almost materialised.
Darmian has made just one appearance for Manchester United this term and looks to have fallen out of favour with Jose Mourinho.
Pari, who works alongside Darmian’s advisor, has said the player will seek a move away from Old Trafford come January if the situation does not change.
Speaking to Radio CRC, his agent said: “We have to understand Manchester United’s will, some Italian clubs have tried to take him, but Manchester United shut the door straight away. He’s playing little or not at all, which is a shame because of the national team. If the situation doesn’t change we’ll have to think of something in January, he risks losing the national team too.”
He has emerged as a target for his fellow countryman Antonio Conte at Chelsea, but Manchester United would prefer to not to sell to a domestic rival unless a high fee was quoted.
This has opened the door for Inter Milan and their sporting director – Piero Ausilio – admits that the club will look to pursue the player in January.
Darmian’s agent has also conceded a move to the San Siro is a possibility when he said: “There was Inter, as came out in the newspapers. We’re at the beginning of October so we’ll have to wait and see how situations develop.”?
