Manchester United are keen on Barcelona defender Dani Alves, despite the full-back seemingly agreeing a move to Italian giants Juventus.
The 33-year-old’s days at Camp Nou appear to be over with Alves thought to be on the verge of sealing a move to the Serie A champions.
But according to Mundo Deportivo, the Brazil international could be at the centre of a three-club tug-of-war, with Paris Saint-Germain chiefs meeting the player’s representatives in the French capital and an offer from United on the table.
Despite Juventus’ interest in the former Sevilla defender, no contract has been signed yet between the player and club.
Alves has made almost 400 appearances for Barcelona and won six La Ligas and three Champions Leagues to boot.
With 89 caps for his country, Alves’ vast experience would be extremely welcome in both Paris and Manchester, with both clubs in need of reinforcements at right back.
Gregory van der Wiel is out of contract at the Parc des Princes and Serge Aurier’s future is unclear over his disciplinary problems, including uploading a video which saw him launch a tirade of abuse at head coach Laurent Blanc.
And at Old Trafford, Matteo Darmian has had a tough start to his Manchester United career where his form dipped in the second half of the season, which could prompt new manager Jose Mourinho to look for a new addition to provide competition.
And competition wouldn’t get any better than in the form of Alves with almost 700 club appearances and nearly 30 trophies to his name.
