A game of full of intensity and action it was when second place Atalanta played first place Napoli in matchday 13 of the 2022/23 Italian Serie A League on Saturday, reports Nigeriasoccernet.com.
With two Nigerians, Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen leading the attack at both ends it became a matter of who scores first and wins the battle at the end.
Eventually, it was the team from Naples that triumph by a 1-2 win over Atalanta.
Super Eagles strikers did come to the party as Atalanta went ahead in the 19th minutes of the game.
Victor Osimhen had handled the ball in the box and Ademola Lookman scored from the penalty spot.
In the 23rd minute, Osimhen brought the match to equilibrium with a header courtesy of a cross from Zielinski.
Napoli made two after Osimhen’s assist saw put the ball at the back of the net in the 35th minutes which was how it ended.
With the goal, Osimhen has now scored more Serie A goals than any other Nigerian player in the competition’s history. With 32 goals, he has one better than Simy Nwankwo who has 31.
Besides, he scored 8 goals in 9 games with two assists.
Lookman for his part, has scored 6 goals in nine games.
