Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini has acknowledged a mistake in the substitution of Ademola Lookman during the club’s 1-0 defeat to Lazio in the Serie A, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Lookman was replaced in the 75th minute, but Gasperini intended to substitute Brazilian defender Ederson.
The error, caused by a misunderstanding between the players, may have impacted Atalanta’s title chances.
“We paid a high price for it,” Gasperini told DAZN, expressing his frustration with the mistake.
