“?Liverpool and Manchester City are part of a quartet of clubs battling it out for Roma’s Leandro Paredes, “?according to talkSPORT.
The report claims that the Premier League sides have been joined by Juventus and Monaco in the hunt for Paredes’ signature.
The £16m-rated midfielder is believed to want to remain in Italy, and rejected a move to Bundesliga outfit Schalke earlier this summer.

That has not put Liverpool or City off in their pursuit of Paredes, however, with both clubs hoping to tie up a deal for the 22-year-old.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has eyed midfield reinforcements throughout the transfer window, but has been left frustrated by his search so far.
The German missed out on the signings of Piotr Zielinski and Mario Gotze to Napoli and Borussia Dortmund respectively earlier in the summer.
Klopp has drafted in Georginio Wijnaldum to bolster his ranks, while Serbian Marko Grujic has returned from a loan spell with Red Star Belgrade.
However, the former Dortmund manager is still on the lookout for further signings before the window closes in September.
Meanwhile, new City manager Pep Guardiola has found midfield signings easier to come by.
Leroy Sane, Ilkay Gundogan and Oleksandr Zinchenko have all joined the Spaniard’s revolution at the Etihad stadium ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.
Despite spening in excess of £160m, however, Guardiola is still keen to add new recruits as he continues to reshape his squad.
Paredes joined AS Roma from Boca Juniors for £5m in July 2015.
The defensive midfielder enjoyed a season-long loan spell at the Stadio Olimpico during the 2014/15 season before making a permanent switch 12 months later.
The Argentina Under-17 international was then loaned to fellow Serie A side Empoli for the entirety of the last campaign, where he made 33 appearances in all competitions.
