In one of this season’s early headlines in LIGA MX, there is certainly Chivas’ slow start. The rojiblancos struggles continued well into last night, when they were beaten at home by Leon with a resounding 3-0 scoreline.
That was just the latest of a string of poor results to start the season, as the team has only been able to score 5 points out of a possible 15 after 5 matches. Today, Chivas DT Ricardo Pealez came out with a strong statement today regarding the team’s poor run of form:
“I wanted to…show my face after last night’s defeat defeat (vs. Leon); I am the one responsible for this project and it is only fair I come out to say that we, as all of you, are very disappointed by this tournament’s start. Know that there is a clear and defined project that includes several areas and that we are trying to consolidate. Today, there are many things we need to address in the first team and it gives me a great sense of impotence seeing how we aren’t able to win in our own home stadium, seeing how we are not able to have constant good results”.
We’ll see if this speech will serve as a wake-up call for Chivas to start putting good performances and results together.
