The Libyan Football Federation has announced a 28-man squad for the Mediterranean Knights’ crucial Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 qualifiers against three-time champions Nigeria, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Libya will face the Super Eagles of Nigeria on Matchday 3 and 4 of the qualifiers, with the first match scheduled for Friday, 11 October, in Nigeria, followed by the return leg on 15 October in Libya.
The East Africans currently occupy fourth place in Group D with one point, earned from their draw against Rwanda and a loss to Benin.
Nigeria leads Group D with four points, followed by Benin with three points and Rwanda with two.
Libya’s squad announcement comes three days after announcing the appoint of Nasser Al-Hadiri as the new head coach.
