Legendary Football icon “Jay Jay Okocha” turns 49 years as CAF Celebrate him

Jay Jay Okocha was born in Enugu, Nigeria, on August 14, 1973, and the legend has clocked the age of 49. The exceptionally talented superstar was phenomenal during his playing days as he exhibited breathtaking skills

The Confederation of African Football, as well as football fans, are celebrating the football legend.Jay Jay Okocha, who remains an icon in world football, Jay Jay Known for his magical dribbling skills during his playing days, Okocha stunned the world following his exploits for several clubs in Europe.

The Enugu-born ex-international featured for Eintracht Frankfurt, Fenerbahce, Paris Saint Germain and other clubs in Europe.During his time with the English club Bolton Wanderers, he earned the moniker “Jay-Jay – so good they named him twice”.

Okocha played for Nigeria’s national football team between 2003 and 2006, featuring in 73 matches and scoring 14 goals. He was Nigeria’s Footballer of the Year a record seven times, but somehow he missed out on the prestigious CAF Player of the Year Award.

As he celebrates his 49th birthday, CAF wrote on Twitter: “So good they named him twice. Happy birthday to the @NGSuperEagles legend, @IAmOkocha.”
