SV Ried has announced the termination of their contract with Nigeria’s Kingsley Micheal five days to the end of the season on Tuesday, Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.
The Australian Bundesliga team took to their social media handle to announce that the player’s contract ended in April and will be going back to his parent’s club, Bologna.
No official statement was given as reason for the abrupt end of the midfielder’s contract by the relegation strugglers, but the player seem to have fallen out of favour.
This may not be unconnected to the incident of the player not making the matchday squad and showed himself cheerful on an Instagram live stream while Ried had lost to their direct relegation competitor, Hartberg in early April.
23-year-old Michael has since then been left out of matchday squads and was suspended.
He joined AV Reid in August 2022 and has played 14 competitive games for the Upper Austrians since then.
