Remo Stars goalkeeper Kayode Bankole has expressed his excitement after receiving his first-ever call-up to the Super Eagles ahead of Nigeria’s crucial FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.
Bankole, who joins 22 other players for the matches, is eager to contribute as Eric Chelle begins his tenure as head coach.
Speaking about his experience, the shot-stopper described it as a “great feeling” to train alongside established Super Eagles stars and familiar faces like Daniel Ogunmodede and Fidelis Ilechukwu from the NPFL coaching setup.
“Getting the call-up at this time is something amazing for me. It’s a big task ahead because everybody expects Nigeria to qualify for the World Cup. With God on our side, I know it is possible.”
With Nigeria needing a positive result against Rwanda, Bankole and his teammates are fully focused on securing a crucial victory to strengthen their qualification hopes.
