“?Massimiliano Allegri has called on his Juventus players not to waste their 1-0 away win over Lyon in the last round of Champions League fixtures before they face the same club on Wednesday night.
The Serie A champions would guarantee qualification if they repeat the result at Juventus Stadium, but Allegri insists that Lyon need to be respected ahead of the clash.
“Our main objective is to be in contention for any trophy in March, but we have to take one step at the time,” said the Bianconeri boss, as quoted in “?the Daily Mail.
“Lyon played well against us and earned a good away win (over Toulouse) at the weekend, but we cannot waste what we did in Lyon.
“We will need to respect Lyon because they are a very good team who have two dangerous forwards and can always create trouble for any team.”
Allegri also singled out club stalwart Gianluigi Buffon, who is set to make his 100th appearance in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
“He is an extraordinary player who has proved for 20 years to be the best in the world in his role,” he said.
Team news was also on the agenda for the former AC Milan coach, but he was reluctant to reveal exactly who will be lining up in midfield.
He added: “(Claudio) Marchisio will certainly play, he brings us experience and quality. He has improved a lot in recent years as a deep-lying playmaker and can only continue to do so with time.
“(Sami) Khedira will also play, but don’t ask me who the third midfielder will be because I’m not going to tell you.”
