Jeffrey Schlupp Reportedly Eyeing West Brom Move After Falling Down Leicester Pecking Order

Leicester City winger Jeffrey Schlupp is reportedly hopeful of a move to West Bromwich Albion during the January transfer window after becoming frustrated with his lack of playing time, according to the Express and Star.

The West Midlands side had been credited with strong interest in the 23-year-old for much of the summer transfer window that resulted in multiple bids, with the highest bid said to be reaching the £12m mark.

The Premier League champions, however, were reluctant to see their versatile midfielder go, and rejected each bid despite Schlupp’s reported interest in a potential switch to the Hawthorns.

And reports suggest his desire to move away from the King Power Stadium has not died down, but has instead been reaffirmed after struggling to hold down a spot in Claudio Ranieri’s side.

The Ghana international has been largely a peripheral figure for the Foxes this season and has featured in just three matches. Ahmed Musa, a £15m summer signing from CSKA Moscow, has occupied the left wing berth for much of the season, while youngster Bartosz Kaputska has been his understudy.

Schlupp is now hopeful West Brom boss Tony Pulis will reignite his summer interest to end his current nightmare. The former Stoke City boss made only a handful of signings during the summer and the 58-year-old recently spoke of his desire to add further faces to his squad this winter.

We need to bring some quality in,”? the Baggies manager said.
