“?Inter Milan youngster Gabigol has said that he does not want a loan move in the January transfer window, after the Brazilian striker, signed from Santos for €30m in the summer, stated that he wants his long-term future to be with the Italian giants.
According to transfer pundit, Fabrizio Ramano at “?Calciomercato, the striker is willing to wait to get his big opportunity in Italy. The former Santos forward has only played 20 minutes so far this season and has been linked with a loan move to fellow Serie A sides, Bologna and Empoli.
Inter are not willing to let Gabigol leave on a permanent basis, after beating a host of major sides – Barcelona, Chelsea and Leicester City – to the Brazilian’s signature in the summer. He was at one point set to join the Premier League champions Leicester, but opted for Inter and will now have to be patient to get his chance.
Gabigol might be loaned by Internazionale to Empoli or Jiangsu Suning if he doesn’t convince Stefano Pioli, says TuttoMercatoWeb.
One of the most memorable occasions when Inter let a Brazilian youngster go too early was in 2013 when they sold Philippe Coutinho to Liverpool. The midfielder is now one of the top players in the Premier League and one of the best talents in the world, wanted by the likes of Barcelona and Juventus.
If Inter make the same mistake with Gabigol, like they did with Coutinho, then they could regret it massively. The Brazilian forward was heavily tipped to be a world beater and if he is given the right time to develop at Inter, we could be seeing the glory days return to the San Siro.
