Inter could look to sign striker Carlos”? Bacca from direct rivals Milan should Mauro Icardi leave the club for Arsenal this summer, according to “?Premium Sport.
West Ham United have been in the running to sign the Colombian for a number of weeks, though Bacca is believed to be hesitating on a move to the Premier League outfit as he’s looking to play in European competition this season. Inter will compete in the Europa League after finishing fourth in Serie A last year, while the Hammers need to qualify for the group stages.
Milan won’t be able to offer the former Sevilla forward anything but domestic football, and Inter may fancy their chances of signing the player given their competition status. The Nerazzurri, however, are only set to move for Bacca should they see Icardi leave San Siro.
Both the Gunners and Serie A giants Napoli have been linked with Icardi over the past few weeks, with Wenger openly admitting that he’s looking to sign a striker and “?spoke of his pursuit of a new forward – without naming Icardi or other target Alexandre Lacazette – following the club’s 8-0 pre-season friendly win over Viking FK on Friday.
He said: “We do not have to panic but we are on alert in the transfer market so that we can make the right move when the opportunity comes up.
“The money is never a problem if you have to pay what is requested. The price of a player is down to four ingredients. One is the talent, two his age, three is how much you expect him to improve your team, and four his resale value.
“If he ticks all four boxes then the price is not that important. You have to find the player.”
