Troubled Nigeria Professional Football League side Ikorodu United have hired their third coach of the season following the sacking of Sam Okpodu and hiring of Dutch man Theo De Jong.
The newly promoted NPFL team are finding it hard to replace Belgian tactician Maurice Cooreman who helped them gain promotion to the elite division but left before the start of the season to join Akwa United.
Okpodu replaced Benson Edema as chief coach few months ago but failed to arrest the slump of the team as they are still well in the drop zone despite some mid season recruitment.
Information gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com has it that the coach Theo De Jong will resume training with the team tomorrow ahead of their weekend game.
68 year old Theo last coached Willem II in 2010 and from 2002 to 2007 worked as assistant Manager in China,Iraq,Iran and Cameroon although he has managed top teams like FC Den Bosch,FC Zwolle,SC Cambuur and Go Ahead Eagles.
During his playing career he played for Nec Nijmegen and Feyenoord Rotterdam earning 15 caps for the Netherlands national team and played for them at the 1974 Word cup finals.
