Kelechi Iheanacho was on song for Leicester City in their 3-1 win over Derby County in a warm-up game played on Saturday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
With Leicester City team divided into two for concurrent friendly matches against Preston North End and Derby County, Kelechi Iheanacho led the attack of the team that defeated Derby County 3-1, registering his name among the scorers in the game.
After a first-half stalemate, Kelechi Iheanacho slammed a well-taken strike into the net for his maiden goal of pre-season before Derby’s Tom Barkhuizen levelled matters 10 minutes later. But Patson Daka struck for the third time this pre-season and Callum Wright got himself on the scoresheet to win it for City.
Meanwhile in the same game against Derby County, Wilfred Ndidi made his long awaited return to the Foxes lineup.
The strong midfielder as usual dictated the pace of the game from the midfield as Leicester recorded a massive pre season win over Derby County.
In the other game played against Preston North End, Jamie Vardy and Harvey Barnes found the net for City inside the opening 18 minutes in Lancashire, before Ali McCann’s deficit-halving strike in the second half, but it was the visitors who emerged with a 2-1 victory in their fifth outing of pre-season.
