Ighalo scores to help Al-Hilal win another title as Ujah, James hit the target

Nigerians continued their impressive start to the league season on Saturday.

Although football games across England and Scotland didn’t hold on honour of the late Queen Elizabeth II, Nigerians in other countries of the world kept is entertained and busy on Saturday.

Here is the highlights of the Saturday performances of some of them.

Odion Ighalo scored the opening goal and first penalty as Al Hilal defeated Zamalek 4-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regular time to lift the Lusail Super Cup.

Anthony Ujah scored for the second week running as  Eintracht Braunschweig held Hannover 96 to a 1-all draw.

Segun James came off the bench to hand Tuzlaspor the maximum points as he scored the winning goal for them in their hard-fought 2-1 win against Genclerbirligi.

Chidera Ejuke got his first assist of the season on Saturday for Hertha Berlin as  they were held to a 2-all draw at home by Bayer Leverkusen.

Kelvin Akpoguma was on Hoffenheim starting eleven as they recorded a massive 4-1 home win against Mainz.

Calvin Bassey was again excellent as Ajax thumped SC Heerenven 5-0 in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Raphael Onyedika came off the bench in 76th minute as Club Brugge got the maximum points on the road following a 2-0 win against RFC Seraing.

Josh Maja played the full minutes for Bordeaux as they fell to a 2-0 loss away at Saint Etienne.

Fortune Bassey was a second half substitute as Viktoria Plzen secured the 3 maximum points away from home in a hard-fought 3-2 win against SK Sigma Olomouc.

Kingsley Michael features in midfield as 10-man SV Ried fell to a 3-0 defeat against RB Salzburg.
