IFK Gothenburg Set To Unveil Nigeria Union Berlin Striker 

Swedish side, Suleiman Abdullahi IFK Gothenburg is set to unveil Nigeria striker who failed to get a contract extension with Union Berlin, Nigeriasoccernet can report.

Played in Germany since August 2018, first in the second division team Eintracht Braunschweig, then in Union Berlin where he became historic when he scored the decisive goal in 90th minute for the club in the play-off match against VFB Stuttgart during the 2019/20 season.

After that it got difficult for him to cement his place even on the bench and was loaned to his old club Eintracht Braunschweig 2020/2021 where he scored two goals in eight starts.

The 25-year-old sat on the bench three times in Union Berlin during the past, but has not played a competitive match since May 2021 and with his contract with Union Berlin expiring on June 30th the club has made it clear there will be no extension.

According to Swedish outlet Expressen, Suleiman Abdullahi is close to sealing a move to IFK Gothenburg.

Negotiations between the parties are far advanced and IFK Gothenburg’s hope is to be able to present Suleiman Abdullahi soon.

Union Berlin in their farewell post on their website wrote: “Suleiman is forever a name in the history of the Union thanks to his goal in the play-off match against VFB Stuttgart”
