One of the NFF Presidential aspirant in the just concluded NFF Elections, Idah Peterside, has stated that talks held with the newly elected NFF President, Ibrahim Gusau were of a positive nature.
Ibrahim Gusua became the 40th NFF President after beating former Nigeria International, Idah Peterside in a rerun by 39 votes to just 1 vote.
“Moments after the outcome of the votes were declared, Gusau whispered in my ear that he would love us to work together, because I fought in the election with a brave heart.” Peterside said
The former Super Eagles shot-stopper said he wasn’t planning to backdown, even though his chances were slim in the elections.
“Despite how obvious it was that the rerun was looking like a one way streak, with the margin from the first round of the polls. I knew I just had to stay in the race for courage to those following and watching the race; you never give up.”
Idah showed distaste for the actions of his fellow aspirants who gave up and didn’t fight till the end.
‘It will not feel right if everyone backs out and leave the position to the winner on the platter of gold.’
The Ibrahim Gusau led administration will manage the affairs of football in Nigeria for the next four years taking over from the Amaju Melvin Pinnick administration which lasted eight years.
