Asamoah Gyan admits he misses the absence of duo Sulley Muntari and Michael Essien but has left their return to the Black Stars to the coach.

Muntari is serving an indefinite suspension following his violent behaviour during Ghana’s wrecked World Cup campaign.

The AC Milan midfielder punched former Black Stars management committee chairman and Medeana president Moses Armah, leading to his suspension from the team

Essien on the other hand refused to warm-up for Ghana’s group C game against Portugal and has since been overlooked.

However, Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan says he misses the absence of the two players but was quick to add their return depends on coach Avram Grant.

“Yes, I miss Sulley and Essien, they are Ghanaians and we do miss them. Of course I want to see them in the team but that will depend on the coach but we surely miss them,” Asamoah Gyan said on Accra based radio station, Starr 103.5 FM.

  1. Well I think we should just move on without them. Times are changing and we need a new core. This guys have done their part and would always be remembered.

  2. Forget them. Look at the decipline in the team now. Everything is working to perfection. This young guys are full if energy so we don’t need sulley or Essien. They can go to hell

  3. We don’t need them to come back and destablilize the the team. Essien, Muntari, KP Boateng should be cut off completely.

  4. I agree with you 100%. The new generation is more than capable of doing great things for Ghana, and even superceding what KPB, Essien, and Muntari achieved.

I disagree with you guys, we don’t have a natural no8 in that team. Wakaso was converted to no8 but his deliveries are not solid, his crosses are too hard, his corners are not on point. Imagine what a Muntari in that midfield, taking the free kicks and corners would have done? In football when things are not right, you don’t go for players, you go for the coach cos he’s to manage this players. In my opinion, I think we need the experience and expertise of Sulley and Essien in that team to take on the world. let them do what they have to do and the coach will do his work to manage them for the benefit of Ghana. We can sure take on the world!

  6. guys we still have kojo asamoah!

We don’t need Muntari and Essien!
