Grassroot: Hammola FC, Iwo All Stars secure quarterfinal spots

Hammola FC on Saturday defeated YSF Warriors FC to book a place in the quarterfinal of the 2022 Hammola Football Championship, Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.

The host got their goal of the game via the spot kick from the boots of Habeeb Olanrewaju in the 8th minutes before Alabi Kabiru 54th minutes sealed the win for them

In the second game of the day, Okinni United defeated OKAA Sports FC 3-1 on penalties to secure a place in the last 8.

The game ended 1-1 during the regulation time with Owoeye Sunday (pk) 33′ and Odugbemi Naheem 35′ scoring for OKAA Sports FC and Okinni United respectively.

A brace from Oluwaferanmi Sunday (56′, 63′) sent Beyond the Limit to the quarterfinals at the expense of Surprise FC Osogbo in the 3rd round of 16 game played on Saturday.

Iwo All Stars defeated Crowned Champion FC 4-3 on penalties following a 1-1 regulation time draw.

Lukman Taiwo helped Iwo All Stars raced into an early lead when he scored the game’s opener in the 6th minute.

Crowned Champion FC responded with the equalizer from the boot of Raifu Maroof in the 19th minute.

None of the sides could find the winner at regulation time with the winner decided via penalty shootout which went the way of Iwo All Stars.

Games continue on Sunday as 8 teams battle for the four remaining quarterfinal spots.

The Hammola Football Championship is a grassroot tournament organized by Grassroot Football Coaches Council, Egbedore(GFCCE) and powered by Hammola Global CEO Hon Odeyemi Muhydeen Oladele.
