The two finalists for this year’s Hammola Football Championship final have been confirmed after Hammola FC and IMO FA picked-up the final tickets, reports Nigeriasoccernet.com.
In the first semifinal battle between two Ido Osun teams, Hammola FC pipped Young Talented FC by a lone goal.
Although the first 45 minutes was cagey, Hammola FC were able to find their way past difficult Young Talented FC defence through Alabi Kabiru in the 43rd minute.
Three players were sent off in the second half by the referee, two from Young Talented FC and one from Hammola FC.
In the second semifinal, it was a thug of war between two Iwo teams Iwo All Stars and IMO FA.
The entertaining game produced no goal after the regulation time. The excitement didn’t stop as well during the shootouts which produced IMO FA as the second finalist.
It eventually ended 6-5 on penalties after in favor of IMO FA.
Having lost the first two edition finals, Hammola FC will hope to finally win the trophy which has eluded them while IMO FA will target to make it an hat-trick of defeat for Hammola FC in the final of the competition.
The Hammola Football Championship is a grassroot tournament organized by Grassroot Football Coaches Council, Egbedore(GFCCE) and powered by Hammola Global CEO Hon Odeyemi Muhydeen Oladele.
