Defender Ransford Addo is delighted to be welcoming Asamoah Gyan into the Chinese Super League following the Ghana striker’s mega move to Shanghai SIPG.
Gyan has completed his move to the ambitious Chinese club who paid in the region of €20m to Al Ain to secure his services over a two-year period.
Gyan will be joining Addo who until then was the sole Ghanaian playing in the Chinese top flight.
The younger brother of former Ghana defender Eric Addo who also played for Shanghai SIPG last season is delighted to have a quality Ghanaian acquisition as company in the Chinese Super League.
“I feel very happy for a great player from my country joining the CSL,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com’s associate reporter in China Duan Linhao.
“I don’t think money is the most important thing of him coming here, sometimes as a football player you need a change to challenge yourself.”
Gyan will have his official unveiling ceremony at Shaghai SIPG sometime this week.
