Ghanaian striker Emmanuel Osei Banahene says he wants to be the top scorer in the Egyptian top flight following his move to Ismaily.

The 26-year-old was unveiled as one of three new signings by the Yellow Dragons earlier this week.

Banahene is thought to be a direct replacement for John Antwi who was sold to Saudi Arabian club Al Shabab in January.

The former Inter Allies and Heart of Lions hitman now wants to follow in footsteps of his predecessor by emerging top scorer of the domestic league by the end of the campaign.

“I want to thank officials of Ismaily and my manager Joseph Epton for making this move happen,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“My aim is to work hard and become top score next season.

“For now I am not going to make promises but I want help the club achieve at least a top three finish and subsequently win cups.”

Banahene joins compatriot Theophilus Anobaah at Ismaily.

Both Ghanaian players were unveiled on the same day.
