Italy-based midfielder Afriyie Acquah says his topmost priority is to help Ghana end its trophy drought at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Torino new signing was part of the Black Stars squad which lost to Ivory Coast in the final of this year’s tournament in Equatorial Guinea.

Acquah missed a penalty during the 9-8 shoot-out defeat to the Elephants.

The 23-year-old was a revelation and wants to maintain his position in the team for the next edition in Gabon.

“I pray that I will be at next year’s AFCON and win the trophy so that in the next the future I will b part of the country’s history,” Acquah told Allsports.com.gh

Ghana last won the Nations Cup at the 1982 finals hosted by Libya.
