Ghana international Emmanuel Frimpong has branded the Russian FA’s decision to ban him for two matches following his reaction to a racist chant as a joke.
The former Arsenal midfielder who now plays for FC Ufa in the Russian league reacted with his middle finger to fans who were racially abusing him during a league game against Spartak Moscow in the Russian league opener.
The tough tackling midfielder received a two match ban for his actions whiles Spartak Moscow surprisingly escaped punishment in a decision that Frimpong brands as beyond a joke.
“For the Russian FA to say they didn’t hear or see any evidence of racism is beyond a joke,” Frimpong said
FIFA has official quizzed the Russian FA to explain the reason behind punishing only Frimpong for his reaction but letting Spartak Moscow off blame.
