Inter Milan manager Frank de Boer has admitted he is unsure whether he will still be in charge for their next game after suffering a humiliating 2-1 defeat against Atlanta on Sunday, as reported by the Daily Mail.

A late Mauricio Pinilla penalty secured all three points for the home side after Inter’s Eder scored a stunning free-kick to cancel out Andrea Masiello’s opener.

The chastening defeat leaves Inter languishing in 14th place, with Sunday’s defeat their third straight league defeat and their fourth in five matches.

The Serie A giants’ poor form has led manager De Boer to admit he could face the sack before his side take on Torino during the week.

The Dutchman signed a three-year deal when he was appointed by Inter’s new Chinese owners during the summer, but while he admits his side are in trouble, the former Ajax manager is adamant he still has the backing of Inter’s owners and president Erick Thohir.

The 46-year-old told reporters after the match: “I don’t know if I will still be here on Wednesday.

“It’s a difficult time for everyone – and for me in particular – but the only thing I can do is to continue to work hard.

“It’s always difficult when you lose three matches in a row but I know that we can improve a lot and we saw that in the second half of this game.

“President Thohir and Suning [Inter’s owners] are not in Italy but they are right behind the team.

“I feel the club’s confidence in me but we need a win to turn things around.”
