Juventus full-back Patrice Evra looks set to be leaving Turin this month, and according to “?Sky Sports is close to signing for Marseille.

The 35-year-old has been told he can leave Juventus this window after losing his place in the first team to Alex Sandro.

Evra’s contract expires in the summer and it appears Juventus are ready to cash in on the full-back to ensure they don’t lose him for nothing in the summer.

Evra “?had previously been linked with a move to Crystal Palace, but following the arrival of Jeffrey Schlupp and the expected signing of Patrick Van Aanholt  it appears Sam Allardyce has opted against signing the former United defender.

Evra had also been linked with moves to Sunderland, Lyon and Valencia this month.

However, the speculation surrounding Evra’s future appears to be drawing to a close as the full-back is expected to complete his move to Marseille in the next few days.

It is reported that Evra’s agent will arrive in France on Thursday to finalise an 18 month contract. Marseille are currently 7th in Ligue 1, with 30 points from 21 games.

Evra has not played in Ligue 1 since leaving Monaco to join Manchester United in 2006.

Having signed for £5.5m, the Frenchman went on to make over 250 appearances for the Red Devils, winning five Premier League titles, three League Cups and a Champions League whilst at Old Trafford.

Evra left United in 2014 for Juventus and up until this season has been a regular in the side.
