Flamingos ready for crucial Burkina Faso clash – Olowookere

Flamingos head coach Bankole Olowookere has declared his team fully prepared for Saturday’s decisive encounter against Burkina Faso. Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Flamingos were held to a 1-1 draw by Burkina Faso in the first leg of their 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier last weekend.

The second leg is set to take place at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Saturday.

Olowookere as par DailyPost, emphasized his team’s readiness, stating, “We have one hurdle to cross before the final hurdle, and that is what we are thinking about. Yes, we know it would be either Senegal or Liberia in the final round, but we have to first get past the roadblock mounted by Burkina Faso.”

Reflecting on the first leg, he added, “We threw away a lot of opportunities in the first leg. If we had converted those chances, we would have been sleeping easy and thinking of this as a formality match, but we did not. On Saturday, we must convert our chances and that can only be done with good presence of mind and focus.”

The winner of this tie will face either Senegal or Liberia in the final round.
