Nigeria’s U17 women’s captain, Taiwo Afolabi, praised her teammates after their impressive 4-1 victory over New Zealand in the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
“I want Nigerians to expect good results, great wins and they should keep supporting us,” Afolabi said. “It was a good game from the girls because that is their first World Cup, apart from me, it was a good game.”
Afolabi, who scored Nigeria’s fourth goal, also reflected on her Man of the Match prize. “I feel grateful, I feel good for the goal and MOTM award, all thanks to Adegoke Taiwo for the assist,” she added.
