FIFA Ranking: Nigeria Move Up Three Spots, Ivory Coast knock Algeria Off

Nigeria moved three spots in the latest FIFA rankings released today, while 2018 World Cup rivals Algeria, Cameroon and Zambia slipped in the ratings.

Nigeria are now 64^th in the world after they were 67^th the previous month. They are also 14^th in Africa.

The slim 1-0 at home against Tanzania earlier this month will account for this upward climb.

Zambia, who will host Nigeria next month in final round of the qualifying series for the World Cup, are now 92^nd in the world after they occupied 91^st position in August.

Cameroon, who are also drawn against Nigeria in the World Cup qualifiers, dropped five places to 59^th in the world.

Algeria slipped to 35^th in the world and lost top spot in Africa to Cote d’Ivoire.
