It was a dramatic start to the 2023 Nigeria National League (NNL) season as Bright Osah’s last gasp goal earn FC One Rocket a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Warri Wolves, reports Nigeriasoccernet.com.
In the first game of the NNL’23 season, Nigeria’s second-tier football competition, host FC One Rocket broke the deadluck through Goodnews Paul as the game approached the break.
With FC One Rocket taking the lead into the break at the 18,000 capacity Eket Stadium, the intensity of the game increased with Warri Wolves pushing for the leveller from different angles.
Thier persistency paid off as the drew level in the 88th minutes through Okere Shedrach.
With the game edging towards a stalemate, Bright Osah connected Samuel Anietie’s cross to score the winning goal and secure maximum points for Coach Ndubuisi Ndah tutored FC ONE Rockets.
The only game of the weekend lived to expectations. Other match day one games will come up on March 18, 2023 across various venues in Nigeria.
