Ex-Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah pays heart-wrenching tribute to deceased former star George Arthur

Ex-Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah had paid an emotional tribute to ex-international teammate George Arthur, who passed away on Sunday.

The former Kotoko great nicknamed, ‘King George’ died in his native Sunyani following a cardiac arrest.

And coach Appiah, who was the bossom friend of the former club and international teammate was left speechless in a chilling tribute.

“A day of sorrow, it’s really sad to lose a friend and brother. I’m in Sudan and couldn’t attend training when I heard the sad news. We were like brothers in the national team and Asante Kotoko,” he bemoaned.

“He was always encouraging me to work hard and serve the nation, now that he’s gone who will be my brother and best friend?” the former Black Stars coach wailed.

“My condolences to the family, may King George’s soul rest in perfect peace.”
