EPL: Iheanacho plays a vital role as Leicester draw Leeds

Nigeria International, Kelechi Iheanacho played a pivotal role as Leicester City picked up a point at Elland Road on Tuesday evenging, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Luis Sinisterra handed the home team the advantage with just twenty minutes into the game when he turned home a cross with his head.

In the 73rd minute, Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier made a brilliant save to deny Iheanacho’s curling shot from finding the net and he also prevented Patson Daka from slotting home the rebound.

With 10 minutes of normal time to , goLeicester’s hard work paid off as Iheanacho rode a challenge from Cooper. Visibly in pain, he was able to make the pass, cutting through Leeds’ backline and picking out Maddison, bursting into the box. The England international’s touch was maybe intended to tee himself up for shot, but it turned into the perfect assist. Vardy, fresh off the bench, came charging in to nestle the ball into the bottom corner.

It was Iheanacho’s last act of the game as he was then replaced by Dennis Praet in the 82nd minute.

The point on the road is an important one for Liecester City as they host EVErton who are place below them in the battle for survival on Sunday.
