Enyimba head coach Stanley Eguma believes his team still has a strong chance of securing a top-three finish in the Nigeria Premier Football League, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The People’s Elephant rallied from a goal down to beat Abia Warriors 2-1 at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba on Sunday, moving to eighth position in the table.
Despite being four points behind third-placed Abia Warriors, Eguma remains optimistic about his team’s prospects.
“The league is still open. As far as I’m concerned, Enyimba is in strong contention,” Eguma said after the game.
He acknowledged past mistakes but expressed confidence that his team is learning from them.
“Forget our past flaws. We dropped points here against Bayelsa United. In Lagos, we were close to getting the three points but ended up dropping them too. I think we’re learning from those mistakes.”
