“?Emanuele Giaccherini has no regrets over leaving Sunderland for Napoli during the summer.

That is according to the player’s agent Furio Valcareggi, who recently spoke to the “?Sunderland Echo, insisting that his client is quite happy at Napoli.

“Giaccherini is fine, he is happy to stay in Naples,” he told the news source. “He wants to play and prove himself in training. Let’s wait, however, there is not a shred of regret for our choice. This three-year period in Naples will be nice.”?

Giaccherini earned himself a move to the Naples outfit with superb performances during Euro 16. The midfielder went from a player who could not cut it at Sunderland to an instant hero.

Playing under now Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, he was virtually unplayable during the European Championships, and many believe that Italy would have gone on to win the tournament if not for an unfortunate penalty shootout exit against Germany.

He spent last season on loan at Bologna, and when Napoli came knocking, he jumped at the opportunity. The club parted with £1.28m in order to secure his services, but the 31-year-old has made just four appearances for the side this season.

That is partly due to a thigh problem which bothered him at the start of the term, but back in October, Valcareggi told Radio Kiss Kiss that the player was ready to play.

“Emanuele is fine at last, he’s ready to play,”? he said. “We know that playing will be difficult, but now he’s completely available to [Coach Maurizio] Sarri and he can really help the team. He’ll have to create doubts for the coach.

Whether or not the Italian gets into the side remains to be seen, but for the moment, and according to his representative, he is happy.
