Super Eagles assistant captain William Troost-Ekong is the latest addition to the unending list of injured players, Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.
The Watford FC of England defender on Saturday left the team’s training camp in Algeria for Morocco after picking up an injury during the Super Eagles test game against Algeria B.
Announcing the situation via the Nigeria Football Federation twitter handle, the short story reads:
“William Troost-Ekong has left camp as a result of an injury cropped during the test game yesterday. He is back to base for further checks. Wishing you a speedy recovery Ekong???? #SoarSuperEagles.”

The player himself made his announcement on his official twitter handle page stating:
“Unfortunately picked up something in our game yesterday. Back home now to sort it out. All the best to the boys on Tuesday! ?? ? Nigeria Super Eagles.”

He is now the second player to depart the camp of the Super Eagles within the space of 48 hours with Leicester City’s midfielder Wilfred Ndidi the first due to injury as well.
Nigeria will face Alegria in an international friendly match on Tuesday in Oran.
