EFL Cup : Super Eagles goalkeeper concedes twice on Watford debut in loss to MK Dons

Super Eagles shot stopper Maduka Okoye made his debut for Watford in their 2-0 loss to Milton Keynes Dons.

The Nigerian was preferred start in goal ahead of Austria’s Daniel Bachman and English man Ben Hammer.

His debut didn’t go as planned as he was unable to prevent his side from exiting the EFL Carabao Cup.

Goals from Mathew Dennis and Darragh Burns sent the Hornets packing in the round two of the EFL Carabao Cup.

Watford who were favorites to win the encounter bossed every aspect of he game asides goalscoring and keeping a cleansheet.

They controlled the game, having a 64% rating in possession but it didn’t matter as they failed to make good use of it.

At halftime, the Liam Manning led boys went into the tunnel leading.

Despite taking control of the game in the second stanza, the Hornets still failed to level matters.

They’d go on to concede another in the 53rd minute when Burns found the back of the net for MK Dons.
