EFL Championship: Akpom‘s goal starts a renaissance for Middlesbrough over league rival

Middlesbrough will keep pushing for an automatic qualification into the English top flight league after their 3-1 victory over direct rival Sheffield United. Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Arsenal’s Academy product Chuba Akpom continued his amazing goalscoring form after finding the net in the 25th minute when he collected a pass from Marcus Forss to cancel out Oli McBurnie’s early opener for second-placed Sheffield United.

The goal turned out to be his 17th of the season, sixteenth under coach Micheal Carrick.

Cameron Archer three minutes into the second half gave the Blades the lead for the first time in the game before he then got his brace in the 74th minute to condemn United or a 3-1 defeat.

The Boros remains third on the log, seven points behind Sheffield United who have a game in hand.
