Dave Edwards has scored three goals for Reading since joining from Wolves in August
Reading midfielder Dave Edwards feels his side are hitting their stride in the Championship after back-to back victories in the space of five days.
Wales international Edwards, 31, scored for the second game in a row in Saturday’s 3-1 win at Sunderland.
“December’s going to be a big month for us and we’ve got off to a great start,” he told BBC Radio Berkshire.
“There’s a tough game coming against Cardiff, but another three points would see us right back up there.”
Reading, who finished third last season, are unbeaten in their past four games to climb to 14th and nine points off the top six.
Edwards, who joined from Wolves on a two-year deal in August, believes momentum is behind his team-mates after an indifferent start to the season.
“We’re still looking back at games where we should’ve picked up more points, but we’re playing well at the moment,” he said.
“We know if we’re doing that, the results will come and hopefully we can keep the run going. We know we’re good enough to be in the top six.”
Reading host second-placed Cardiff next Monday, a game Edwards says holds a bit of extra appeal for him.
“They’re on a decent run of form too,” he said. “But the way we’re playing at the moment, we can take anyone in the league on.”
