“?Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has dismissed talk of a potential reunion with former manager Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
Aubameyang has been linked with some of Europe’s biggest clubs, and has often spoke of his desire to join another giant side once his time with Dortmund comes to an end.
“Nobody can foresee the future,” Aubameyang, who has 16 Bundesliga goals in 15 appearances this season, told reporters (via the Daily Star).
“I love it at Dortmund, but I can’t say that I’ll stay for two more years, or five or 10. It’s possible that a club could reach an agreement with Dortmund in June and I’ll go. I want to be honest: When you are ambitious and also want to see something else… it’s difficult to talk about.”
However, when asked about a possible switch to Anfield, Aubameyang replied bluntly: “I don’t think that’ll happen.”
Dortmund fans have seen the likes of Mats Hummels, Mario Gotze and Robert Lewandowski move to arch rivals Bayern Munich in recent years, but Aubameyang has insisted he will not make the switch to the Allianz Arena.
“I would never join Bayern,” Aubameyang continued. “That’s for sure. That would be too hard on the Dortmund fans. Whatever they’d offer me, I’d say no.
“Some players have ambitions, and therefore they leave and want to experience something new, you know.”
Liverpool have thrived under Jurgen Klopp this season, and are currently in third place, seven points behind leaders Chelsea. Klopp signed Aubameyang for Dortmund in 2013 for a reported £9.8m, and the Gabon international has scored 100 goals in 165 appearances in all competitions for the club.
