After starting off their 2023 AFCON Qualifiers campaign with a heavy defeat to Guinea Bissau, former Super Eagles midfielder Henry Nwosu has charged the Super Eagles not to undermine the ability of their next Monday opponent, Nigeriasoccernet can report.
São Tomé and Príncipe were heavily beaten 5-1 by Guinea Bissau on Thursday a result which has seen many tipped them as the weeping boys of the group.
However they will look to put the heavy defeat behind them when they play Super Eagles in Morocco their adopted home ground on Monday and in the build up to the game, Henry Nwosu has advised the Super Eagles of Nigeria not to underestimate their host despite their poor results from the first qualifying round.
“Commencing the 2023 AFCON qualifiers with a victory against Sierra Leone is a good one by the Super Eagles. However, their next attention should focus on Sao Tome, going there and picking the maximum points,” Henry Nwosu told completesports.
“The players must not underestimate them because every country in Africa are now playing good football. They should maintain the same winning spirit they displayed against Sierra Leone because the three points is all that matters.”
