“?Chelsea striker Diego Costa is understood to have called a truce with the Blues following intense speculation about his immediate future at the club and looks set to remain at Stamford Bridge for the remainder of the season, according to reports in The Sun.

Details emerged last week that the Spaniard had become unsettled having been the subject of interest from Chinese Super League side Tianjin Quanjian, who are reportedly prepared to offer Costa a whopping £30m-a-year.

The striker was subsequently left out of the Blues squad for their 3-0 victory at Leicester on Saturday and though manager Antonio Conte claimed his omission was due to a back injury, it is understood that a training ground bust up, caused by talk of a move to China, was the real reason for the forward’s absence.

However, as the story continues to develop, The Sun suggest that Costa has eased tensions between himself and the club and will now hold talks with Conte later this week to pledge his allegiance to the team for the remainder of the season.

Chelsea have remained adamant that their man is not for sale during the current transfer window, despite rumours indicating that Tianjin Quanjian are prepared to pay as much as £80m for the Spanish international.

Whilst this season’s top scorer looks set to play a part in the Blues’ title run-in, Conte will remain concerned by Costa’s refusal to sign a contract extension at Stamford Bridge.

The 28-year-old has two-and-a-half years left on his current deal, but the events of the last few days have reportedly left him convinced that his future lies elsewhere, meaning that his departure from the club is now highly likely come the summer transfer window.

Costa was recently rumoured to have admitted he hated English football and though he is prepared to stay with Chelsea for the rest of the season, his future thereafter looks uncertain as the £30m-a-year offer from China continues to weigh heavy on his mind.
