Nigerian attacker Ahmed Musa says he is unhappy with his current goal drought, having failed to score for Russian side CSKA Moscow for 11 games in a row.
Musa last scored a goal for CSKA in a 2-0 away win over Dinamo Moscow in the Russian Premier League in early October.
He also failed to find the back of the net in Nigeria’s matches against Congo, Cameroon (both friendlies) and in the World Cup qualifiers against Swaziland.
Musa admits his dry spell is ‘painful’ but says he will look to score again when CSKA face PSV Eindhoven away from home in their final UEFA Champions League group stage match.
“I am no longer a scorer, it’s a pretty painful subject. I have nothing to say. Myself, it’s a shame that so many matches I cannot score,” Musa is quoted on CSKA Moscow’s official website.
“But it’s not that I do not want to score or go all out on the field. I am doing everything possible, just that the ball does not go into the net. I will try to score against PSV.”
The PSV v CSKA match kicks off at 21h45 CAT.
