Crystal Palace are looking to address their woeful league form this season with the signing of Juventus left-back Patrice Evra, but they face competition from Lyon, according to “?reports.
The 35-year-old has been linked with a move away from Turin this season after falling behind Alex Sandro in the pecking-order.
Lyon are in pursuit of an experienced left-back for additional depth, and it’s thought that they hold an advantage over Palace for Evra’s signature as the former Man Utd full-back wants to finish his career in France.
Sam Allardyce previously admitted that he would ‘pursue second-choice targets’ after failing to land players at the top of his wish-list.
“”?I’ve had that many players on my desk the last two weeks, looked at that many reports, watched so many games, that in the end we got them to file all that (list of players) down.” The Evening Standard quote the Palace boss as saying.

“The ones we’ve already done that on are not coming now, so we’re down to the next level on what’s available and who might come.
“We’ve done a good dozen (approaches) or so, and we’ve got one (signing, Jeffrey Schlupp).”
Schlupp, a £12m signing from title-holders Leicester City, starred in the 1-0 defeat to Everton on Saturday, unfortunately playing a role in the visitor’s winner as he laid down on the floor injured as Seamus Coleman broke free and scored.
