Villarreal overcame FC Cartagena (1-5) to book their place in the last 16 of the Copa del Rey. The Submarine came from behind in the second half with determination to score all of their five goals after conceding a goal from Pablo Vázquez late in the first half.
Villarreal let the rain poured four minutes into the second half through Álex Baena then Arnaut Danjuma and Jose Luis Morales made the score line 3-1.
Danjuma substituted for Chukwueze in the 68th minute provided the Super Eagles winger the time to get on the score sheet.
Five minutes from time, on the counter-attack, Chukwueze scored the fourth goal of the game in front of a Cartagena side that was on the attack.
The fifth and final goal of the match was scored by Étienne Capoue put the nail on the coffin and the Yellows will now have to wait until Saturday when the draw is down to determine their next opponent in their Spanish FA cup.
