German-born Ghanaian midfielder Evans Owusu Nyarko has left German giants Borussia Dortmund to join lower-tier side Holstein Kiel, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.
The 23-year-old former Hamburg SV youth team talent leaves the former Bundesliga champions following his inability to gatecrash the first team squad in successive two-season attempt.
Nyarko signed a two season contract with Dortmund before the start of the 2013/14 season but only limited second string games though he was named in the Borussians pre-season squad last season along with American-born Ghanaian Joseph Claude-Gyau.
Last season, 31 league games for Dortmund’s second string side and scored once but has now turned his attention towards helping Holstein Kiel win promotion from the Liga 3 to the Bundesliga II.
Manager Karsten Neitzel identified the qualities of the midfielder and requested for his recruitment but is yet to feature him in any of his two games that have opened season.
Nyarko joins another Ghanaian players Dennis Danso Weidlich at the club. Weidlich is a defender who has vast experience from playing in the German lower-tier league.
