“?The 2016 Europa League quarter-final match between Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund will long be remembered by both sets of fans for its entertainment value.

The Reds triumphed over their German counterparts after a pulsating second-leg at Anfield, coming from 3-1 down to secure a remarkable 4-3 victory on the night and 5-4 triumph on aggregate.

As well as the scoreline, the club’s two sets of supporters behaved impeccably and sung Liverpool’s infamous “You’ll Never Walk Alone” song together ahead of that second-leg encounter – a spine tingling moment for anyone in attendance that night.

Such was the nature of the harmonious atmosphere, FIFA decided to split their FIFA Fan Award at Monday night’s FIFA The Best Awards Ceremony and award the gong to both clubs:

Congratulations, @LFC & @BVB!

Thank you very much! In our opinion, this title should belong to the 96 victims of the Hillsborough disaster. #JFT96 #TheBest https://t.co/9RXDcNoSkb
