Chelsea legend John Terry in attendance as Aribo & Bassey feature for Rangers in draw vs Celtic

Legendary Chelsea captain John Terry was in attendance at Parkhead as Rangers delayed the inevitable by forcing champions in waiting Celtic to a 1-1 draw on Sunday afternoon.
Light Blues manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst made three changes to the side which faced RB Leipzig in Thursday’s Europa League semifinal, but Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo retained their places in the starting lineup, with the Super Eagles number 10 partnering Fashion Sakala in attack.
Super Eagles central defender Leon Balogun missed out entirely on the matchday squad.
Against the run of play, the Hoops took the lead as Jota fired home from a Daizen Maeda cross in the 21st minute to give them the advantage at the break.
Rangers themselves could have been 1-0 up before the interval but Ryan Kent’s effort from 25 yards was saved by Joe Hart.
The Celtic goalkeeper was beaten at his near post by a powerful shot from Sakala in the 67th minute after a perfectly weighted pass from Kent and the Zambia international could have won it but hit the woodwork four minutes from time.
With three games remaining, Celtic are six points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.
Rangers will now focus on their big Europa League semifinal, second leg clash against RB Leipzig at Ibrox Stadium on Thursday, May 5.
