Plateau United of Nigeria put themselves in good stead to qualify to the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup after win against Al Akhdar SC of Libya at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja on Wednesday, reports Nigeriasoccernet.com.
The Jos side put four goals to one pass their Libyan opponents through the boots of Mustapha Yuga, Ifeanyi Emmanuel in the first half and a brace from Albert Hilary in the second half..
Yuga headed home the opener off Daniel Itodo’s long throw in the 27th minute of the encounter.
Emmanuel made it two after he connected well to an inswinger from Haggai Katoh in the 40th minute.
The second came with a lot of drama with three more goals; two from Plateau and one from the away side.
Albert Hilary scored his first in the 75th minutes, but the away side pulled one back in the 85th minute.
However, Hilary with another goal restored the three-goal cushion to put the Nigerian side in good place ahead of the second leg.
The second leg come up on the 9th of November, 2022 in Libya.
